Dreaming

dreaming my dreams in the darkness
from my mind's open eye do they flow
scenes of life maybe lived maybe not
I see her in white t-shirt standing
pink socks and undies too in dreams
but also I see far and distant shores
heaving of my ship rolling with the sea
smell of salt water in my nose pleasant
but then I am standing out on a road
far from town a lonesome wind blowing
hoping for a ride on down the line
but yet there are times my dreams
take me back to my childhood days
long ago and far far away now
to the times of innocence pre-mistakes
when the time rolled out in front of me
and everything was yet to come
but dreams are funny funny things
some are filled with mystery
others filled with love
often loneliness extreme
but yet I still dream
